Watched the Big Lebowski today. Brilliant movie. I saw it once a long time ago and didn’t like it, but like all Coen brother films it is great, and usually better after the first viewing.

Everyone loves a tourist….Last night did the ex-pat tourist thing with the company matt works for. We go on the brightly colored trolly and bought apfelwein and got to see Frankfurt….funny how little of Frankfurt I’ve actually seen. It was a slightly educational trip, and fun because the company on board was OK. I didn’t mingle (no reason to hang out with ex-pats – Why did the american writer woman keep talking to me….I don’t really care that you want to move to France and write a novel – can’t you tell that when I turn away from you to talk to my friends that I’m not interested in your life story).

Matt (oz), Saffa (South Africa) and Will (brit) were onboard so it was all good. We got off at Sudbahnhof(f) and went to dreikoenigskeller . Saw an old time blues singer. His music was classified as “Pre War Blues 1920′s Calypso”…How could you not go check that out. http://www.myspace.com/cwstoneking
we were joined there by Sanne, Kat, Singer Phil, and his friend (Carol?) who is flying to London today.

Saw two great bands there in the past week. So nice to have decent live music. nice to have friends to enjoy the music with.

Modest Mouse June 10th…….the music situation has turned positive of late…I have tickets in hand and the following day off.

Apparently america was conquered sometime last week….america is very happy :>)

Off soon to meet Saffa and Matt at the Borse…outdoor food and wine court on the steps of the old stock exchange…Summer Friday ritual…Life is great…last night was great! Today is great!
this weekend….street festival outside…standing outside amongst the food courts with friends….watching the people go by…

Yay. My work contract was just made permanent…This makes me happy….
A colleague asked me if I missed home, and I said this is my home…Guess that means I have to figure out if or when I need to go back to the states…Seems a long way to go…Maybe for x-mas I can find a way…or I could fly to cuba for the same money…hmmmm….Cuba would be cool.

my response was “No, when people have nowhere to stay in Jolly old England they just go to the nearest castle and huddle inside”….No word yet on if ***(family member who shall not be named)*** believes me…

Sooooooo…..apparently it’s mothers day soon in the states….I’ve no idea when…it’s not mothers day in Germany…dammit…..my poor mom….sometimes she sends stream of consciousness emails too….I guess that’s where I get that from….

I have mad ironing skillz…..
Does it have any more value if I say skillllzzzz?

Is there a point at which a shirt is beyond hope and should be thrown out???
Why does it take an hour for the iron to cool off? Can I dip it in water?

Am I really obsessed about ironing or am I projecting? It’s still like a David Lynch movie in here…

At least a Cat Stevens song came on during ironing practice (wait a minute…ironing is a sport!!!).

OK…not sure if I can recall everything important.
Last night…night of the museums……OP art is cool. I think I’ve only been to one real museum in my life before last night. Since as we all know.. museums in restaurants in Virginia city don’t count. Anything less than 5$ isn’t really a museum (arbitrary number).

I did bust open a German book today thanks to my favorite German teacher . Yes Doing a sport is now on my to do list….However it’s many many entries behind move to IncaLand.
Apparently drinking is a habit not a hobby….good grief!!!! So much pressure

Ironing is NOT self explanatory!!!!
I can still pass for 25…

may 1st already. That means I’ve spent more than 10 of the last 12 months in Germany. I can’t imagine going back to the states.

Public holiday today. Essentially labor day, but this is a more interesting reason to take a day off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walpurgis_Night German tradition on May day.

It is really hard to nap when there’s a protest in Paulsplatz…good grief people…can’t you go bother the people on the ziel  instead???? I just wanted to sleep a bit.
