so apparently the poor girl mentioned below needs to be defended by matt and I was juicing up for a proper response, but after a bit of bad news I just am no longer in the mood…so I just give a pissed off response that won’t make sense to anyone but me…

yes the dandy warhols suck….I never said they didn’t…I haven’t seen a zeppelin shirt since….ever….why don’t u just argue that jesus was a punk…

My point was that the poor girl wasn’t old enough to hear or see Nirvana. She unfortunately was made a victim by media, her ignorant friends and the sorry rock clubs that have insisted on playing a tiny sliver of music that was popular and still in the memory of those who have power over her. If Winger or Led Zeppelin or Robert Johnson or Che Guevara, the Stanwyck Sisters, the Stanley Brothers or Gilbert and Sullivan had made a decent song ever she would never know it cuz she’s been led to believe that what she listens to is as good as it gets…and she hasn’t questioned that…

now of course I’m making silly assumptions that she has never heard any of those people I just listed, but based on her look I feel comfortable making that assumption….

once upon a time I could accept that everyone walking down the street had something to teach me, but now I wonder if they could teach me something before irritating me…

the more people I meet the less I know…

I think the band was Frente…and no I didn’t buy the ticket…I did however get lost on the way home…getting off on the wrong freeway exit and then driving back towards Portland when ur trying to go to Salem and have to work at 8 the next day sucks….

Frente is a band to be proud of…

Why do I have two pieces of chalk in my pocket…oh yeah…sorry…

so today I see some 14 year old girl with a Nirvana sticker on her jacket and as usual this pisses me off…it’s like the 3 times I’ve gone to a rock club here and they play Nirvana…so the last time nirvana released a relevant album was 1991…so think people…how come I don’t recall wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt in 1990 (10 years later), or a winger shirt in 1994. It’s nice that this poor girl thinks that with her all black outfit and Punk is dead sticker that she’s somehow a non Brittany spears, but really she is just another Brittany spears wanna be that ate exactly what was fed to her…I’m not judging you you cow for the music you listen to, but really…stop wearing bad religion badges (who were never relevant btw). Punk has been dead for 40 years…which reminds me of 1994 seeing the dandy warhols and quasi opening for some australian band…what’s his face warhol told us that punk is dead and it’s like even the sorry bands like them knew that punk was dead way back when you were 1 year old.

wil has promised a home cooked meal at his place the first sunday in November…actually looking forward to that I think….

more thoughts on france…

KLM is not the greatest airline I’ve ever been on….when i say not the greatest I don’t mean to imply that they aren’t they worst airline ever…however considering the business I work in I would never say anything like KLM is the worst airline ever…never ever…never…but I do want to be clear that KLM is not the best airline I’ve ever been on…

that is all on that topic…

french cab drivers are more than willing to rip you off…jerks….no tips…

I’ve complained about the rude Germans waiting to get on the streetcar, but the french are worse…the germans will stand there and not really get out of the way as you are attempting to dismount…while the bloody french will actually try to board the train before everyone is even off…I’ve started to just run into people as i get off…unless they make an effort to get out of my way or they are old ladies…I think this is like road rage on the public transport…

on a related topic can a german give me some deutsch I can utter to warn people that I’m about to run into them if they don’t get out of my way…achtung hackfresse!!!! I’m about to run into your sorry arse, and If I’m carrying a bag that hits you a second time I’m not sorry about it…

Bordeaux has sprawl…it makes me appreciate Frankfurt….ahhh sweet sweet Frankfurt…

I watched eng uh lund vs australia in the Rugby world cup at a table with 8 women and 4 men…in the states I’ve never seen that ratio of women and men watching a sporting event. Not sure if I’ve ever watched a women’s tennis event at a pub.
