too many documentaries…

I’m just going to start sharing the things I’m learning…

Salmon drink water…

Turkeys sometimes nest in trees…

BBC documentaries are SOOOO much better than pretty much anything you get in the states.

Not a documentary, but in trying to cancel my cell phone contract I find out that t-mobile has been ripping me off for almost 3 years…Jerks! There’s your lesson foreigners…t-Mobile is eveil!!!!

Blind Willy McTell

I was listening to blind Willy McTell loudly last night…still curious about what the german neighbours think of this type of  music. Someone besides me had to hear it.

it's hard to watch a documentary with Julia…

because ten seconds before the TV is about to tell me something Julia says ”did you know…” and then I learn a fun fact before the TV can tell me.
She’s smarter than David Attenborough 🙂

nacht der museen

it’s night of the museums again tonight…The night of the year when people who don’t bother going to museums all year  get out to bang against each other at the overcroweded museums for one low price…they’re going to be noisy until 5 in the morning….go to sleep people!

oh wait…someone found a cure for the recession…

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090424/ts_nm/us_flu_17

what day is this…

it’s Friday already and this week flew. Somehow it feels like a lot got accomplished this week.
Have booked a flight to Italy the end of May (with Julia)
Am going to Koln next week with Matt and Phong (Puts Marie…ja!).
Went to the eye doctor and then ordered glasses (btw all the strange germans seem to have gotten into optometry. Weird bunch!)
Watched several BBC docus, and Transformers (I felt smarter until I started watching Transformaers).
Got a haircut (what a pain. I hate waiting for haircuts). I don’t mind getting haircuts, but the sitting in a salon and waiting for half an hour is about the worst thing in the world…-
had to listed to Saffa try to explain South African politics…tedious and angry…bah…
Gave Saffa tips on how to negotiate with his boss….don’t ever take advice from me on negotiating tactics 🙂

I made fun of Stephen Hawking on Saturday…

and now look at him.

I call him 2,0, but in case anyone ever wants to know Eric Grell’s birthday it’s April 13th. That’s Eric Grell of Denver, Minnesota, Frankfurt, and Chapel Hill-ish…
I just know someday someone will google it…put it on your calenders cuz he won’t tell you himself.

I used staccato in a sentence today. It was probably my highlight so far…I’m also hoping to use vibratro as well if the right moment comes up in conversation…

I went to Reverend Beat man at Das Bett on Saturday and couldn’t see a thing. That is the worst layout of a venue I’ve ever been too…

it's like a square hot dog…

I played poker at a half Korean half Bavarian dudes last night…(Bovarean-clever). He gave us leberkäse which is a ‘bavarian dish’…anyways. It was just like a hot dog…on further research it’s all the crappy leftover pig stuff…ala american (non kosher) hot dogs.
Here’s your tip to survival in america…buy kosher hot dogs. They can’t put the gross stuff in those.

btw leberkäse translates to ‘livercheese’, but it contains neither liver nor cheese.

it's still warm…

but I must admit that the warm days make for great evenings!

…and on the U.S. foreign policy front…Obama allows cell phones and TV…brilliant. As I stated a long time ago the greatest thing america is exporting now is culture. Give them TV, movies, rock n’ roll and they will crave the overconsumptive american dream…

4 days off is too many…

Sunday: 2 bike rides, joeys, 2x to starbucks, dinner ala Boston. Thanks Sarah and Kat! Pretty much everyone left town except Kat, Shan-iqwa, Sarah, some guy named Steve, and Shaun – so I spent the evening with them (j was sick and stayed home).
After some particularly viscous remark/insult Steve jumped in saying we are so mean…I guess we are, but at least it’s funny.

Today the zoo, and me complaining about the stupid hot weather…
My favourites usually end up being the monkies. They (like midgets) always seem to cheer me up…
