So tomorrow right after work I head to the train station to get the overnighter to München. Did I mention I’m not a good packer? I ride all night and arrive at something like 6:30 in the morning and then mill about until eric arrives in the evening. This can’t end well.
I’ll get a train ticket tomorrow night at the station and will be staying illegally in someone elses motel room…ha! I’m guessing by the time eric and his group arrive I will be in need of a nap, and will have probably already seen all I need to of Munich.
I hope there’s a jazz club or something to keep me entertained…oooh! or a starbucks…or an irish pub that serves english breakfast…hey!

I’m sure I’ll forget half the stuff I need…ill-preparedness rocks! I was a boy scout for like 6 months…

There’s a pub near here called “the jolly roger”. They have really good focaccia. Any place named jolly roger has to become a second or third regular…

Went for a ride today. Ended up in Lerici yet again, but it wasn’t really be design. I was just taking a new route along the coast and ended up arriving in Lerici from a new direction and passed through some cool little towns.
In the pics you can see the smog and also La Spezia which is the town behind that long breakwater. There’s a large naval base in La Spezia. I think if you make the pic big you can see some warships…I’m not positive though cuz its so smoggy…

Up until about 4PM I was thinking how the weather was perfect. Then it got a bit warm. Take note…this is my first of many complaints about the heat
I took the short walk down to the beach and it was actually great down there. There’s a breeze and it feels much cooler. Lots of beached whales. I’m convinced the Italians just buy lots of swimwear when they’re 16 and just continue to wear it for the rest of their lives. Lots of fat people in teeny tiny swimwear.
DON’T EVEN LOOK!!!

So I’m off to Munich on Tuesday evening. Gonna take an overnight train and arrive in the morning. Eric, give me some details…where, when etc…I can’t book online so I’m just gonna show up in Florence on Tuesday night and buy a ticket. What could possibly go wrong??? I guess worst case I can’t get a train ticket and I’ll have to rent a car or something…I’m excited.

Matteo graciously gave me a few episodes of Teletubbies. Now admittedly I have only ever watched about 30 seconds of any teletubbies episode, but after growing fond of Sesamestrasse in Deutsch I was excited to try children’s programming in Italian…It wasn’t great…I already knew how to say ciao and count to 4…I was expecting more learning and less dancing. I’ll have to keep ears out for other children’s programming.
I do have some books and CDs for kids in Italian. It’s almost the weekend…

I went to Lerici today. Had some lunch, took some pics. I really like it there.

There’s even a place that sells english papers and books. The book selection is small so I bought yet another generic crime/mystery novel.

I guess it’s the equivalent of July 4th here tomorrow. We have the day off to celebrate the fact that Burlesque Tony is our prime minister. Apparently that doesn’t mean much. No parades or anything, but also no work. I’ll  just have a coffee in the morning then be bored the rest of the day.
Probably go to Lerici or something…
